Dr. Gloria Surh Optometrist

Dr. Surh is originally from Vancouver, Canada and moved to the Bay Area in 2007. She received her Doctorate of Optometry in 2004 from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. Her studies have taken her from Seattle, where she worked as a research scientist, to Stockholm, Sweden, where she was a resident at St. Erik's Eye Hospital. After 10 years of general practice, she decided to branch out on her own with Ideal Eyes Optometry. Dr. Surh is grateful to the Burlingame community for embracing her practice as a neighborhood spot since she opened in 2013.

Jean Chan Optician

Jean started in the optical industry over 33 years ago as a lab technician at Lenscrafters in downtown San Francisco. She worked her way up to general manager and helped open the first Lenscrafters in Hawaii. She became a licensed optician in 1990 and has worked in both commercial and private optical boutiques. Her interest in fashion, design and branding led her to a job with Safilo, an Italian eyewear manufacturer, where she represented brands such as Giorgio Armani, YSL, and Kate Spade. Jean's experience at all levels of the optical industry gives her unparalleled knowledge to truly marry fashion and function at Ideal Eyes.
